A beetnick and his awkward teenage bass

This is me and my younger brother Eric.

Haloween partys

So there is a Halloween party at the Stockton stake center put on
vaugly by the institute. I'm guessing it starts at 7. If you can't
make it to that because you're crazy, Bill is hosting a little get
together for the crazy dregs. By the time you're reading this, his
will have started. It goes probably till around 11...

Institute and soccer

Its wednesday, and you know what that means people. Another
opportunity to grow spiritually, and then to trade most of that
spirtual growth for physical growth as we compete to the bitter end in
a often violent and fast paced game of indoor soccer. Good times will
be had by all. Hope to see you there!

Office Thursday!

So after several failed attempts to establish a location, Rusty
graciously will be hosting our weekly Office Thursday get together.
You people seriously disappoint me. "Out of town", and "on an
airplane"??? We need to get you some better excuses! :)

Can drive final...

We gathered 435 lbs. Of canned food at the auction! The best part is
that this beat out the competition by 5 lbs! Many thanks for all the
help, and to Dave S. For dropping it off for us!

Scary movie Saturday

Bill is gracious enough to be hosting a spooky movie marathon at his place.  The party kicks off at 6:00 P.M. on Saturday. Bring snacks, and be ready to be scared!

Remote Post

This is test of the remote post system. This is only a test. If this
had been an actual activity, it would have had a day ascociated with it.

Every Wednesday

Friendly reminder: Institute on Wednesday at 7. Afterwards, we usually play indoor soccer starting about 9 at the stockton stake center. Tons of fun, plus spiritual to boot!

Corn Maize Friday

Its still fresh... Corn Maze Tandem Challenge. This sounds like an incredible activity hosted at, and by the Stockton Institute. People are paired up and tied together at the writs. They then get in a car, and go to and complete the corn maze, all while stuck at the wrist (if I heard right, you get to eat together too) We all should have good practice thanks to the cool activity we had at FHE a couple weeks back. Great way to meet someone new (what was the point of a singles ward again??). and should be a blast.

Corn Maize Monday!

Pun absolutely intended. This Monday for FHE we are going to the corn maze in Lathrope. This is the big FHE event of the year and is a ton of fun. Adam and Des (Dez? not sure of the abbreviated spelling..) have more information seeing as how they are in charge. I'll add more when I know more...

Fall Auction

Last night we held our annual Fall Charity Auction. It was a blast. We had a good turn out, and people had a great opportunity to socialize and get to know each other. The weather was generally amiable (I thank the heavens for temperate heavens :), and the Pavilion was as inviting a venue as I have ever seen thanks to some brilliant christmas lights (multiple uses a year really makes the "christmas lights" investment much more palatable). Audience participation was very high (albeit not quite as high as spring's talent show where everyone single member participated to the best of my knowledge :) Wow, apparently I use rather a lot of parenthetical asides in my writing :-!

Chile Cook off results:
     People's Choice Award: Erin G.
(this stuff went like "hot cakes." don't ask me what exactly that expression means)
Miracle Chile: Steven C. (you'd have to ask him the story)
Highest Critical Acclaim: David C. (I cant express how disappointing this was...)

Brethren: I'm not going to sugar coat this... I'm not thrilled with your chile cooking performance this time around.  Erin G. proved herself more manly than any of you this weekend (except of course Steven C. who is "The Man" that they are always talking about).  My only advice: sell your cars and buy some big trucks.  Excepting Steven, and Jimmy of course, you all need one.

Thanks everyone for all the help setting up, tearing down, and donating time, effort, and canned, and material goods. Jolly good show. I really appreciated the help cleaning up especially: after a very long day getting ready it was a joyous experience to see the adage "Many hands make for light work" coming true before my very eyes. ¡Bravo, everyone!

Welcome All!

When in the course of human events, it becomes necessary to tap into technology to spread the word simpler so we can stop making all these stinkin' phone calls, we start a blog.

This blog is devoted to those friday nights where we could really use some human interaction. This blog is about bringing people together, to share in the good times, for support in the tough times.

Here, I will post the activities I have a part in (official ward activities, informal movie nights, "The Office" Thursdays, etc) If you have an activity you would like to spread the word about, give me a call on my cell phone... I can post to this blog remotely, at any time, and am more than willing to do so. Consider making this a home page (its pretty light weight, so it isn't too annoying) I will work on getting rss, and atom feeds going to make it even easier to stay up to date (Im really not very good at that sort of thing, but I will give it a shot).

Somebody get me a bottle of champaign so I can smash it against my monitor... This Blog is duly christened!
